TARA Awards categories are reviewed every year by the Senior Executive team, to determine the direction of the categories. Based on this review, and our rates of submission for past categories, this year’s categories were determined.
Yes, each category must receive at least 3 submissions to be considered for an award.
Judging criteria varies by award. The judges will not be considering any material that is not your own or that was not created by RTA students.
The 47th Annual TARA Awards will be held in the evening on Thursday, April 10th 2025.
The TARA Awards will be hosted at The Chrysalis at Toronto Metropolitan University;

Dress to impress! The theme is Broadway, so bring your red carpet best— formal attire is recommended.
All tickets must be purchased by April 10, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
If you submitted a project prior to the deadline and have been informed that you are nominated, please complete the Google Form sent to you about accepting an award should you win. We urge all nominees to attend the event to accept their award in person. If you can not make the show and are nominated, please email taraawards@torontomu.ca ASAP!
